Children's Dentistry

Our Pediatric dentist is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teen years. We have the experience and qualifications to care for a child's teeth, gums, and mouth throughout the various stages of childhood. Children begin to get their baby teeth during the first 6 months of life.

Early checkups help prevent cavities and tooth decay, which can lead to pain, trouble concentrating and other medical issues. The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics say that every child should visit a dentist by age 1 – or as soon as the first tooth appears.

How often should a child see a dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends scheduling regular dental checkups, with the most common interval being every six months. However, the dentist might recommend fewer or more-frequent visits depending on your child's risk factors for oral health problems.

When should a child get their first dental exam?
Protect your child's teeth by starting dental checkups early. The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry say that the first dental visit should occur within six months after the baby's first tooth appears, but no later than the child's first birthday.
